64 bit fails to start

Aug 26, 2010 at 2:06 AM

Hello I can not get the 64 bit version to run on my vista 64 bit os.  I can not find the DroidExplorer regkey in the syswow64node branch.

Any Help?

Thanks, Ralph

64 bit Vista and XP  are known issues and are actively being worked on. There currently is not a "fix" for these OSs, sorry.

OK Thanks for the update.  Can I manually add the regkey and see if that works, or is there more to it?

yes, i guess you probably could...

you need to add the following - I am not sure which tree to put it in but its one of these:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\WOW64Node32\SOFTWARE\DroidExplorer\InstallPath
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DroidExplorer\InstallPath

  • (Default)
    • REG_SZ - C:\Program Files\Droid Explorer\
  • UseExistingSDK
    • REG_DWORD - 1 to use an SDK that already exists on the system (the official SDK), or 0 for the SDK installed by droid explorer
  • SdkPath
    • REG_SZ - Path to the SDK root if UseExistingSDK = 0, then this will be the value of (Default) + SDK
  • Platform
    • REG_SZ - this is the folder in the SDK/platforms/android-<version>. the version is the part that is entered, like for android 2.2 the value is 8
    • this ONLY needs to be entered if UseExistingSDK = 1

Yes that did work.  All I did was created a regkey file with the settings you mention.  Thanks.

Did you put them in both paths, or just one of them?
