After installing I had the "Unable to locate the android SDK tools, please reinstall the appliction. Location : DroidExplorer.Program.Main(String[] arguments)" issue.

In the log file located in "c:\Users\myuser\AppData\Roaming\DroidExplorer\logs\" I found this:
"2013-05-25 13:24:27,565 [1 ][ DEBUG] [DroidExplorer.Core.Logger] Checking for aapt.exe
2013-05-25 13:24:27,580 [1 ][ ERROR] [DroidExplorer.Core.Logger] Unable to locate aapt.exe in the SDK path - System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Unable to locate aapt.exe in the SDK path"

Found aapt.exe in "sdk\build-tools\android-4.2.2\" folder, copied it to the "platform-tools" folder and voila, Droidexplorer works.
A lot of people seem to have the "Unable to locate the android SDK tools" problem, I hope this helps some of them.

Thanks, I solved this problem as you said.
Copied "aapt.exe" from "C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platforms\android-3\tools\" to the "C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools" folder.

As the title says, I try and start Droid explorer and it keeps saying "Cannot Find SDK Tools Please Reinstall Application" even though I have the full SDK downloaded and extracted along with All the APIs available from google. I've reinstalled the app about ten times now and pointed it at at the correct SDK folder, What am I missing? After updating to latest release the suggested work around no longer works.. HELP!!!!!

I solved the problem by myself.

__Temp Solution:__
1. Copy the file __"aapt.exe"__ in __"C:\android-sdks\build-tools\17.0.0\"__
2. Paste the file in __"C:\android-sdks\platform-tools"__
3. Droid Explorer
4. Done

___Why?___

According to the log:
Unable to locate aapt.exe in the SDK path - System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Unable to locate aapt.exe in the SDK path

then i found it from google:

so for deveopler, you should handle the new ADT also.

hmm. very weird. mine reverted back to the 17.0.0 folder structure as well but mine loads just fine now. Something I noticed on my machine though was that my Adt bundle was not installed to Program files at all. i just extracted it and ran the SDK Manager to install the API s etc. I actually have both the 32 and 64 bit Java on my machine so a lot of the plugins and such won't load but D.E. loads just fine. Any thoughts Camelot???

This is a fresh installation of Windows 8 x64 with 64-bit JDK, ADK and Droid Explorer. I tried reinstalling the build tools but it creates the exact same files as beforel

have you tried removing and reinstalling the build tools from the sdk manager? also you do need to remove any old versions of Droid Explorer and install the latest version. Not a problem with the program itself it's a problem with Win 8. It likes to hang on to old program info for some reason when you just throw an update in. Also just a thought, you may need to redo the whole android SDK to the newest version, make sure you install the X64 version when given the option. It seems to run better on windows 8.

The log shows:
DroidExplorer.Core.Logger - Sdk Path set to : C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk
which is correct.

I have the same problem on Windows 8 x64. I have the build-tools/17.0.0 folder but it still shows the same error.
