Can you believe that!!!! My HTC EVO 3D came with I think 4GB SDHC card, I upgraded to a 16GB card and now I can't move apps onto it!!!!

That is a major malfunction!!!

You have to have at least TWO batteries and be able to swap them! The phone will be no good as soon as the battery dies and you have to toss the phone rather than get a new battery!!! MALFUNCTION!!!!

I have had my HTC EVO 3D for nearly 2 1/2 years and I have had to get a new battery even using good battery hygiene and all, the phone is still a great phone, why throw it away because the battery died???? You need to be able to upgrade internal memory too, if I didn't have an SDHC slot I would be stuck with only 4GB ext RAM and the measly small amount of internal RAM. It's about long term CASH FLOW !!!!!!!!!

I really hate that Google pulled direct hardware support for Ext SDHC cards, the answer to that is phones that do NOT allow External SDHC cards support like the HTC One, and one other new phone, can't remember right now, that only allow internal RAM (FLASH) since Google pulled support for it. All apps will dump into /sdcard and it really sucks, forces you to use their "Cloud" drives too for larger media, it's all about the CASH FLOW!!!!!

Android Hell!
So, how did I get those backups on a NON-ROOTED HTC EVO 3D before but now I can't??? What is "fixed" I want to break it!!! :-)
I noticed when I go into the Dalvik Debugger that my data is showing up there and it looks like I could PULL files or PUSH, delete whatever. The logging works and everything. So I looked at the Droid Explorer log and it ends with can't find busybox trying to open shell.......wow how did I guess that!!!

So, at some point I was able to get data backups, not sure how much, not everything but I could see allot of stuff, about 4GB image files but there is more data on the phone than that.

Now just the / folder and it looks empty. So, I got Busybox for non-rooted phones and installed it according to Burrows instructions and it all worked on my phone but he puts the tools in a non-standard location and even by setting the PATH= using Terminal Emulator Droid Explorer still errors out unable to find busybox. Can't I get this working again????? I have previous backups that I can't use now. Can't get new ones, I thought about just running ADB.exe from CMD prompt but the whole idea of Droid Explorer is to having a GUI to make it easier.

Anyway, still in Android Hell, thanks!

I played around some more and realized I had a copy of 0.8.8.2 sitting around on my flash drive and figured what the heck uninstall .8.8.8 (and all leftover files) and sure enough it works like a charm. So Im not sure what is missing from .8.8.8 but .8.8.2 works great. I have not tried other older versions but maybe something up with the newer one(s). Thank You for a great product.
I have always been able to use the program with no issues on my phone with custom rom. I recently redid my computer and reinstalled everything. I installed my Android SDK to all current (which it was before the computer redo). I also updated to the Java JDK 7u21. Installing Droid explorer .8.8.8.8 went great (all versions of JDK, Droid Explorer, Android SDK are 64 bit versions). After setup I did a test on a apk .. and then it crashs on install. I tried several other apks with the same result as well as on another phone. The result was the same. I checked the log and heres my result. Anyone has any suggestions. I have loved being able to install apks right from the program. Heres my log.

first of all, did I mention how great is Droid explorer?, It is, Very very great.

my question is about emulate the volume keys (it maybe also expanded to camera key or other keys in other phones)

The reason it, I try to use Droid explorer to recover info from a quite dead android phone, (half of the screen on the mobile is off, keys missbehave or they do not behave at all, both touch ones and hardware ones)

So i connect to Droid explorer successfully, I manage to reboot and so, I manage to enter into the recovery mode, I manage to see the screen with the Screencast Pluging, and while I can use the soft keys trough the pluging (Home/Menu/Back/Search/Call/EndCall) I can see any way to emulate the volumen keys

Is that possible in the actual version of Droid explorer?
May it be in a future version ?
Is it possible to emulate those keystrokes trough the shell ?

(I really need to backup the device from the recovery, and then wipe it off)

Thanks a lot,

Did you've enabled the debugging options from your phone ?

Hello,

I'm using Droid Explorer to capture videos from my phone device. I've used on LG Optimus One and i had no problems with it. But now i've changed my device to a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the speed of the video that is recorded is very fast. It's looks like
the video is played on 4X or higher.

Does anybody has some hints for me ?

Thanks,

Best regards,

Same here! I'm working more than 2 hours to install droid explorer. all SDK have been installed but it still couldn't find it!!! which file it's looking for to locate the SDK locatiom!?!!

New Post: DroidExplorer.0.8.8.6.x86 Unable to locate Android SDK directory

This is a complete train wreck.

If the correct download isn't available (and obvious) via the download link, remove the bloody link, please.

If you need something installed before running the installer, PLEASE TELL US HOW because:

... installing the confounded windows sdk installer as described above still gives the same error. To make the installer function correctly i had to (a) install only for me and (b) install the entire 4.2 SDK IN ADDITION TO the SDK tools.

This application was wonderful when i first installed it, but since it's become a PITA. I spent nearly two hours today on what should have been a 3 minute upgrade.

Thanks for your work in the past.
